First kiss

In spite of the disparity of years,

In the cold winter night

With company a cigarette,

My lady went to meet.

Radiant smile, purple lips,

Dressed in black came she to me.

Sat on my left in a pleasant place,

The food a delight to eat, happy to be.

The freshness of her heart felt like a rose

Raising emotions beautiful and new,

Filling my chest, a bag of the bees,

Making my smile grow.

Up we went to walk in the alley by the river.

A towering mountain wet with dew

Stood over me searchig for the sea.

My hand on the cheek, the other behind.

Dreamy eyes, lips bitten,

Tongues twisting snakes, locked embrace.

That instant of love overflowed my soul

Bringing passions never known.

To the name Zahava impartial I became

For it was magic sent to me,

All feelings changed to last,

Leaving a spell from which I will never be free.

The sparkling, smiling eyes

Hid the stream of future tears.

Today I grow sad and let the fire get cold,

This heart regrets the damage of the storm,

I cannot rest… Even though

So dear is still the memory of that kiss.
